Board of Directors

The Police UK Disability Sport Board of Directors is formed of four voting members, each having an equal voting right.

With a mix of serving and retired police members and each member representing one of the UK's Home Nations.

Gary Callier

Founder & Managing Director Region: England


Medical Condition: Multi-Level Facet Joint Degenerative Disease, Hip Cam Deformities, Sciatica, Fibromyalgia, anxiety and depression
Background: Former Royal Engineer in the  British Army and Serving Police Officer.


Sports Recovery Journey: Invictus Games Competitor, The Hague 2022 in Athletics Track and Field. Invictus Games Competitor, Dusseldorf 2023 in Wheelchair Rugby, Wheelchair Basketball, Athletics Track and Field, Medal count - 3 Gold, 3 Silver, 1 Bronze. Personal bests in Wheelchair Racing 200 m and 1500 m.


"I started PUKDS after I was inspired by the Invictus Games and the support provided to veterans by Help for Heroes and the Royal British Legion. I identified that the police has no disability sports program. So my mission is to bring the power of sports recovery to the police community to help officers and staff, who are living with injuries, disability or mental health".


Mark Clougherty

Director Region: Northern Ireland


Medical Condition: Complex Regional Pain Syndrome and PTSD.
Background:
Former Royal Military Police, medically discharged in 2013.


Sports Recovery Journey: Competed in the Invictus Games at the Hague 2022 in Wheelchair Athletics, winning Gold in the 100 m, 200 m and 400 m, with a Bronze in the 1500 m. Also competed in Hand Cycling. In 2023 attended the games in Dusseldorf as a reserve competitor for wheelchair athletics, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair rugby, and was the assistant wheelchair athletics coach.


Danielle Stevens

Director Region: Scotland


Medical Condition: Diagnosed with epilepsy, anxiety and depression.
Background: 
Former Royal Navy Gunner and Serving Police Officer


Sports Recovery Journey: Competed in the Warrior Games, Tampa Bay Florida in 2019 in swimming, shooting and sitting volleyball. Went on to compete in the Invictus Games Dusseldorf in 2023 in swimming, indoor rowing, athletics and power lifting.


Craig Godsall

Director Region: Wales


Medical Condition: Degenerative Discs L4 & L5, affecting right leg.
Background:
Former Welsh Guards, British Army. Currently working as a Residential Childcare Worker.


Sports Recovery Journey: Competed in the Invictus Games at the Hague 2022 and Dusseldorf 2023. In athletics 100 m, 200 m in both games and then Wheelchair Rugby in 2023 being part of the team that won Silver.
