PUKDS Publications

Police UK Disability Sport Children's Books

Enter the world of PUKDS children's books and learn about the emergency services and how individuals overcome life changing events with the help from their family, friends, colleagues, charities and their community through the power of adaptive sports.

Each book series follows the journey's of emergency service workers who find the strength to rise again, with courage, determination and turn their experience of injury, illness, disability, ill mental-health and neurodiversity into new hope through participating in a wide variety of adaptive sports and going on to inspire others who have experienced similar circumstances.

Our stories teach children empathy and give them the tools to understand what our emergency service workers go through in their careers and their lives, and what support is there for them and their families when they need it.

These books are also there to support the children of emergency service workers, to help them understand their own situations if a parent of loved one has experienced something similar to what they read in one of our stories.

We also hope to inspire those working in the emergency services or since retired to access adaptive sports, something they may never thought about or even been aware of before.

We believe that our stories will resonate with a wide range of ages, from young children to the adults that share their reading experience.

The PUKDS children's book series supports equality, diversity and inclusion and aims to represent all communities in the UK.

Start your journey by selecting your first book in the series, we hope you enjoy our stories and thank you for supporting the emergency services.
