Service Charities
PUKDS works with service charities to provide additional support which is not directly available to our members and the wider emergency service community, it is through partnerships that we are able to ensure that every need is met. Below is the list of all PUKDS partner organisations, where you can click on the links to go direct to their page and be able to inquire after their products and services.

Police Charities UK is not a charity in it's own right, but a collective of individual police charities and not-for-profit organisations who work collaboratively to support serving and retired police officers and staff members in a number of ways throughout the United Kingdom.
With more and more budget cuts in UK policing, it is through the creation and maintenance of these charities and organisations with the work that they do that provide vital services to those serving or retired from the police and their families in some cases.
On this page you will see all of the charities that form Police Charities UK, and by clicking on the button at the bottom of this page, you will be taken directly to the Police Charities UK website so that you can research each of these organisations and to request support if you need it.
Police Care UK makes sure both serving and former colleagues who suffer harm through their policing role, and their families, have someone to turn to when things get tough. It is the charity for all policing, providing support that is confidential, independent and accessible. It’s independent of the police service and government – funded entirely by donations.

The Police Treatment Centres is a registered Charity providing treatment and support, including intensive, police-specific, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, for injured and ill Police Officers, Retired Officers, and Police Staff.
Police Officers are very often the first responders to serious accidents and dangerous incidents, dealing with death, distress and aggression. They have to see and hear things that other members of the public would simply not be able to cope with (- Martis Media/Police Oracle). The Police Treatment Centres provide police specific treatment for any on or off duty injury. Whether it is a physical injury, or stress, depression, anxiety related, treatment is provided to help them recover and aid their return back to work.
Almost 4000 members of the Police Family attend one of the two Treatment Centres each year at either St Andrews, in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, or Castlebrae in Auchterarder, Perthshire.
By making a monthly donation, the PTC can support you during difficult times. Your donation gives you access to free, expert, police-specific treatment, at one of our two centres or remotely, regardless of whether your injury occurred on or off duty.

The Brooke House Health and Well-being Centre seeks to support and improve the physical and mental health and well-being of uniformed services, retired Police Officers, Military veterans, and their families, who have been physically injured, psychologically impacted and/or bereaved as a result of their service.
Brooke House aims to provide multi-disciplinary, evidenced-based and outcomes-focused, high-impact support for the care and recovery of the uniformed services and their families, complementing other therapeutic services and providing an environment where they may develop together.
We aim to provide a bespoke treatment and care package based on specific need through a range of support services, some of which will be delivered within Colebrooke Park and others at various locations through Northern Ireland.

International Police Association for Membership and Friendship
Any police officer can join the International Police Association (IPA) at any time in their career - as long as they are serving or retired on full or medical pension. The IPA is also open to others who are employed, or have been employed, in the police service. (See Join Us for full details).
IPA is autonomous and does not involve itself in political or welfare issues. Members leave that to the excellent staff associations who address the concerns of specific groups. Instead, IPA members' main focus is on creating friendship across all groups.
Once membership is confirmed, the member and their immediate family have access to the network of other IPA members and their families - throughout the UK and overseas. The network opens up opportunities for friendships at different levels.
A member may just want some simple advice relating to a trip, or perhaps some local assistance: participation in events organised at a local level, e.g. branch trips overseas, sporting competitions, pub evenings, to name a few are popular activities. Members may be interested in contacting someone with similar interests - whether it's a hobby or a professional subject. Offering friendship proves to be a most enjoyable and rewarding experience for the vast majority of members.
Section UK's website and magazine 'Police World' keeps members informed of what's happening currently in the Section and across the IPA world. The 'members' only' section of the site gives direct access to members, information about discounts and other IPA membership benefits.
