Player Classification and Format
PUKDS has worked with the Invcitus Games Foundation to adopt and develop a player classification model for all PUKDS sporting events that are not conducted directly under a National Governing Body.
This event is fully supported by GBWR who are aware of this classification model and fully support its inclusive nature to support all emergency, blue light, and volunteer services, and armed forces players across the UK.
Player Classification
1 Point Players - Single/Double upper limb impairment or limited trunk control
2 Point Players - Single/Double lower limb impairment or moderate trunk control
3 Point Players - Pain associated conditions
4 Point Players - Non physical impairment (and includes mental illness and/or neurodiversity)
Permitted points on court at any time: 12
This is to allow a more inclusive format, permitting a greater number of higher point players to be on court.
Match Format
Standard 2025 GBWR WR5s rules are observed. (With the only exception being permitted points on court).
Tournament Format
Group Matches
Each team will play against each other once in the group stages.
The winning team will be awarded 3 points.
If the match ends in a draw, each team will be awarded 1 point.
At the end of the group matches, the teams will be placed in order by numerical point value.
If teams are equal on points, teams will be placed in order of try difference.
If teams are equal on try difference, they will first be ordered by try scored, then trys scored against.
Play-Off and Finals
(HOME) 3rd place vs 4th place (AWAY)
(HOME) 1st place vs 2nd place (AWAY)
If either match ends in a draw, there will be a further 3 minutes of extra time after a 60 second break.
If this period of extra time ends in a draw, the 3 minute extra time period will be repeated until a winner is decided.
