International Police Disability Sports Championships
This competition will be held every two years and is contested between;
Police Disability Sports Teams from around the World.
All nations will be provided the opportunity to Host the Championships.
This event will take place over the course of a week between June and September
and will be contested across all of the Core Sports.
Each sport will follow a set format for determining the winning Nation.
Athletics:
Athletes will compete in Track and Field events in each classification with medal standing from each event.
Points will be awarded for medal finishes;
Gold = 3 Points
Silver = 2 Points
Bronze = 1 Point
The Nation with the highest number of points will be the winners of the Athletics competition.
Individual Events:
Competitors will compete in singles and doubles matches in a tournament format for each classification.
Points will be awarded for medal finishes;
Gold = 3 Points
Silver = 2 Points
Bronze = 1 Points
The Nation with the highest number of points will be the winners of the Badminton or Table Tennis competitions.
Team Sports:
Sitting Volleyball - Wheelchair Basketball - Wheelchair Rugby
Teams will compete in pool matches to determine the group stage winners.
The group winners and runners up will advance to a knock out competition to determine overall winners.
Points will be awarded for pool matches as follows;
Win = 3 Points
Draw = 1 Point
The Nation with the highest number of points at the end of the pool matches will determine the group standings for the winners and runners up. The winners of a group will be matched against the runners up of a different group.
The winners of each match advancing to the next round.
There will be a Gold medal match to determine the tournament winners and runners up,
with a Bronze medal match to determine third place.
Points will be awarded for medals as follows;
Gold = 3 Points
Silver = 2 Points
Bronze = 1 Point
A shield will be awarded to the winning Nation in each sport.
The Nation that has the highest number of points from all competitions
will win the International Police Disability Sports Championship Trophy.
