Who can become a Member?
PUKDS aims to be fully inclusive and provide fully accessible sports and activities, for all those serving or having served in any policing role in the UK, with full inclusivity for physical, psychological, mental health injury or illness and support those who are neurodiverse.
So, who does that include?
All past and present Police Officers, Staff and Volunteers from any of the Home Office Police Forces, Special Constabularies,
British Transport Police, Police Scotland, Police Service Northern Ireland, Civil Nuclear Constabulary
and all branches of the Military Police and Ministry of Defense Police.
Police staff or volunteer is defined as a person working within a police force, who is employed directly or indirectly by a chief constable.
Police volunteers also includes Police Cadet Leaders.
Individuals who have been wounded or injured, having had or currently living with short term/long term or terminal illness, a physical impairment or disability, partial or full hearing or sight loss.
Someone experiencing mental health related issues, including stress, anxiety, depression and PTSD.
Someone who identifies has being neurodiverse.
Any person having previously attended or booked to attend any of the police treatment centres.
If you meet the criteria and would like to take part in PUKDS events and activities, please download the forms at the bottom of this page.
We would also like to hear from you if you would just like to come and have a go at any of the sports we provide, so that you know what is available if or when the time comes that you may need some additional support.
PUKDS has divided the United Kingdom in to 14 regions, roughly based on the Home Office boundaries for England and Wales, with Scotland and Northern Ireland forming regions in their own right.
Below is the regional map showing which forces have been grouped to form the region.
Regional map showing the police forces within each region
You can choose to represent any region based on the following criteria:
The region you currently work in
Any region you have previously worked in
The region where you live
If you are or were previously a member of any of the national forces or armed forces regiments, you can choose to represent any region that suits your ability to attend training and events. At any time when you move to another area of the UK, you can simply request to transfer regions.
You will also be asked which of the Home Nations you would like to represent.
This could be the country you were born, where you live now, or where your parents/grandparents were from.
