National Police Leagues
PUKDS are planning on delivering the leagues by 2026
The Police UK Disability Sport National Leagues are contested between the 14 Regions.
The leagues follow two different structures, based on team sports and individual sports.
Athletics Track and Field will be an annual champions ships, to be held in the summer and an indoor championships in the winter.
National League - Team Sports
Siting Volleyball - Wheelchair Basketball - Wheelchair Rugby
The leagues will take place across three separate events throughout the year.
Each team will compete in a single match against each of the teams in their division.
Points will be awarded from each match as follows;
Win = 3 points
Draw = 1 point
At the end of the season, each team will have played all teams in their division on three occasions.
Division 1 - 4 Teams
Division 2 - 5 Teams
Division 3 - 5 Teams
The team with the highest points will be the division champions and will earn promotion to the division above.
The team with the fewest points will be relegated to the lower division.
If teams are equal on points at the end of the season;
Their points difference from matches played will determine which team places higher in the division.
National League - Individual Sports
Badminton - Table Tennis
The leagues will take place across three separate events throughout the year.
Each player/pair will compete in a single match against each of the other players/pairs in their division.
Points will be awarded from each match as follows;
Win = 2 points
At the end of the season, each player/pair will have played all players/pairs in their division on three occasions.
Divisions will be divided in to singles and doubles
Each division will have no more than 5 singles or doubles.
The number of divisions will depend on the number of competitors.
The player/pair with the highest points will be the division champions and will earn promotion to the division above.
The player/pair with the fewest points will be relegated to the lower division.
If players/pairs are equal on points at the end of the season;
Their points difference from matches played will determine which player/pair places higher in the division.
National League - Athletics
Track and Field
Regions will compete against each other at annual championships, summer and winter games.
Where there athletes will compete in all events.
Each event will produce a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Points will be awarded to Regions based on the medal count;
Gold = 3 points
Silver = 2 points
Bronze = 1 point
The Region that has the overall highest number of points will be Champions.
If Regions are equal on points at the end of all events, standing will be decided by the number of medals, number of gold, if equal the number of silver, if equal the number of bronze. If however after the medal count is also equal there will be an additional event to determine the overall champions, a mixed relay race which will comprise of pre-determined classifications.
