Sitting Volleyball Match
On Sunday 12th May 2024 the PUKDS Sitting Volleyball Team took to the court in an exhibition match against Team GB at the National Volleyball Centre in Kettering.
Before the match, the Founder Gary Callier met with Phillip Hollobone MP for Kettering, to discuss the power of sports recovery and the direction that PUKDS are heading in relation to all sports, the wider campaign to get adaptive sport in the police and obtaining more funding for police adaptive sports from the government. Phillip also had the opportunity to have a photo with the team and serve the first serve of the match.
The first match was closely contested between a well drilled mixed Team GB and with two of the PUKDS players having never played before it was great to see a close scoreline, with Team GB narrowly winning by 25 - 23.
The second match, against Team GB Men, was again a closely contested match, finishing with Team GB taking the win 25 - 22.
