Sporting Challenges

Do you as an individual athlete or your sports team have what it takes to be crowned the Police UK Disability Sports

Challenge Champions of 2024?


Below are all of the challenges which are open from the 1st January 2024.


Please click on the link to download the Fundraising Form (same for each challenge).

You will need a form for each individual taking part in a challenge.


Registration costs vary depending on single athlete or team entry.


Closing date for sign up is 1st October 2024.


Closing date for all challenges to be completed by is 1st December 2024.


Your Fundraising sheets and challenge forms must be received no later than this date, to allow time for presentation planning.

The donations from each sport are to be sent using the following GoFundMe links.

This is so that we can calculate how much funding has come in from individual sports.

Please remember to shoot a 60 second action video of your athlete or team completing the challenge for sharing on social media.

But remember, please don't release your results.

We count on your silence so we can announce all of the challenge winners in January 2025.

Athletics:

Track Half-Marathon:

This event can be undertaken by a single athlete or a team of four as a relay style event.

A half-marathon equates to 21,097m which is 52.75 laps of a 400m track. The start line for this event is the 1500m mark with 52 full laps after the first pass of the finish line.

The individual or the team who completes the distance the fastest will be presented the winners challenge coins and the title of the Police UK Disability Sport Half-Marathon Champion.

Track Marathon:

This event can be undertaken by a single athlete or a team of four as a relay style event.

A half-marathon equates to 42,195m which is 105.5 laps of a 400m track. The start line for this event is the 200m mark with 105 full laps after the first pass of the finish line.

The individual or the team who completes the distance the fastest will be presented the winners challenge coins and the title of the Police UK Disability Sport Half-Marathon Champion.

Sitting Volleyball:

1000 Serve Challenge:

This challenge is a team event with the focus being on knocking down targets from a serve.

The team who knocks down the most targets out of 1000 serves is the winner of this challenge.

Wheelchair Basketball:

5k Relay:

This event is for a team of no more than 12 players.

A 5k equates to 5,000m which is 179 lengths of a 28m court.

The team who completes the distance the fastest will be presented the winners challenge coins and the title of the Police UK Disability Sport 5k Champions.

10k Relay:

This event is for a team of no more than 12 players.

A 10k equates to 10,000m which is 358 lengths of a 28m court.

The team who completes the distance the fastest will be presented the winners challenge coins and the title of the Police UK Disability Sport 10k Champions.

1000 Lay-Up Challenge:

This challenge is a team event with the focus being on scoring baskets from lay-ups.

The team who scores the most baskets out of 1000 lay-up attempts is the winner of this challenge.
