Multi-Sport Event
Health and Well-being through Sports Recovery
David Ross Sports Village - Nottingham University
Saturday 3rd to Sunday 4th August
10 am to 6 pm each day
The PUKDS Multi-Sport Event will be a bi-annual event showcasing all of the sports on offer and some in development.
It will take place in different force areas, to promote health and well-being in the police through sports recovery throughout the UK.
We aim to create the largest police health and well-being event in the UK, which will be exclusive to the police community by inviting all police charities and other organisations to exhibit their support services to police officers and staff, both serving and retired.
The Multi-Sport Events are designed to be fully inclusive. That means that you do not have to meet our physical or mental health criteria to come along and try out the sports. As police officers and police staff, you never know when you could be injured or assaulted on duty, or even when the first incident will be that leaves a psychological scar.
So we welcome every member of the police community along to see what sports and services are available, in the event that one day day you may want to reach out for support.
Sports on offer:
Badminton
Sitting Volleyball
Table Tennis
Wheelchair Basketball
Wheelchair Rugby
All sports will run simultaneously.
There will also be an opportunity to try out some of the sports that are being introduced in 2025, such as wheelchair racing, throwing events (discus/shot), cycling, hand bike and indoor rowing.
The event is FREE to attend and will be run over two full days with all of the sports on offer being run simultaneously by qualified coaching staff.
Also attending this event will be police charities and other organisations where they will be exhibiting the support services they provide to the police community.
There will also be competitions and a raffle to win sports equipment and merchandise along with merchandise stands and opportunities to make donations to the charities and organisations in attendance.
We will also be expecting a number of high profile guests on both days, which will provide photo opportunities and you will be able to hear what sports recovery means to them, the community and how they are supporting our campaign to get adaptive sports accessible throughout the UK's police community.
